Over many decades, the need to provide value for money spent by construction clients is becoming increasingly neccessary as their needs changes with trend of modern technology. However, at the root of cost control which is the nucleus of ensuring value for money, is the need to have seasoned Quantity Surveyors with sound foundation. Hence, the need to provide fundamental principles guiding the Quantity Surveying Profession. This book presents in simple terms theoretical background of Quantity Surveying profession, the duties of building construction professionals, the relationship that exists between them and the client, as well as application of measuration to Quantity Surveying Profession.
